The AAO also says persistent glare or unwanted images after 3 to 4 months are worth bringing back to your ophthalmologist. Separately, the AAO notes it can take up to a year for the eyes to feel completely normal, so small differences that keep improving are not unusual.

One late change is worth knowing about ahead of time. The lens capsule that holds the new lens can become hazy or wrinkled and start to cloud your vision weeks, months, or even years after surgery. This is posterior capsule opacification, and StatPearls reports it affects roughly 1 in 5 eyes within 3 years. The AAO describes the fix as a YAG laser capsulotomy, a non-invasive procedure that takes about five minutes. If vision that had cleared starts fogging again, get it checked rather than assuming the surgery went wrong.
