The American Academy of Ophthalmology says patients may experience blurry vision for several days to a few weeks after a glaucoma drainage implant. That is generally a shorter window than after trabeculectomy, where the same source says vision may be blurry for several weeks.

Several things blur vision at once. The eye is inflamed, the steroid and antibiotic drops themselves blur, the surgery changes the surface shape of the eye, and the eye pressure has changed. EyeWiki describes the topical antibiotic and steroid being continued for 4 to 6 weeks, so some drop related blur lasts a while.

Usually worst in the first days, clearly improving over the first 2 to 4 weeks per AAO, with some drop related blur until drops finish at about 4 to 6 weeks.

When it stops being normal

A sudden decrease or loss of vision is an emergency, not part of normal healing. The American Academy of Ophthalmology lists vision loss among the risks of a glaucoma drainage implant.

Blur that is getting worse instead of better, or blur along with a red, painful eye, needs a same day call. The American Academy of Ophthalmology says to call immediately if the eye is red, painful, or just does not feel right, because it could be infection that must be treated right away.
